Network Printers in Windows

  • The AOC print server is called aocpfsa.
  • The VLA print server is called vlapfsa.
  • The format for a Windows printer is  \\PrintServerName\PrinterName; example: ps would be  \\aocpfsa\ps and cbprint would be  \\vlapfsa\cbprint.

Adding Network Printers in Windows XP

Click on "Start", "Printers and Faxes", and "Add Printer" in the upper left hand corner of the window that opens.

In the "Add Printer Wizard", click on "Next".   Select "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer", click on "Next".   If you know the full printer name, such as  \\aocpfsa\aoc213c, select "Connect to this printer", type in the "Name" and click on "Next".   If you do not know the full name for the printer, click on "Find a printer in the directory" and then "Next".   Type in part of the "Name" (such as ps), the "Location", or the "Model" of the printer you are selecting, then "Find Now".   When the printer is listed, highlight it with your cursor and click "OK".   You will be asked if you want this printer to be your default printer.   Select "Yes" or "No" and then click on "Next".   Click on "Finish" to complete the printer installation.
