This series of images shows a typical progression of deconvolution
and self-calibration cycles on our 3C286 dataset.
This data was processed in difmap. Above L-R: (1) Amplitude vs. UV radius; (2) Dirty Image; (3) Residual after single point model fit; (4) Residual after phase-only selfcal. Below L-R: (5) Residual after amp & phase selfcal; (6) Residual with 200 mas Gaussian model; (7) Residual with CLEAN model; (8) Visibility plot showing magnitude of phase errors we have been correcting (only a few degrees rms!). | |||
