  17 Special Problems with Snapshots:

This series of images shows a imaging session of a 30 sec A-configuration VLA snapshot of a gravitational lens at 3.6 cm. The poor uv-coverage and the weakness of the source make this difficult, but the point-source nature of the object helps the modelfitting.

Above L-R: (1) uv coverage; (2) Dirty Beam; (3) Amplitude vs. uv radius; (4) A low-resolution search image to locate the source.

Below L-R: (5) Dirty Image; (6) Residual after subtraction of brightest point model component; (7) Residual after second point subtraction; (8) Residual after third point subtraction.
