Accretion Disk Instabilities in the Vicinity of Black Holes
Auer, R.1; Duschl, W.J.1,2
1 Institut für Theoretische Astrophysik, Heidelberg; 2 Max-Planck Institut für Radioastronomie, Bonn;
ABSTRACT:
Accretion disks around massive black holes will themselves become
massive. The alpha -viscosity can no longer be valid in the case
where accretion disk mass is comparable to the mass of the accretor,
as shown by Duschl et al. (1998). Using a modified viscosity
prescription, one that takes into consideration the massive disk,
leads to noticeably different disk structure. We present preliminary
results of black holes with masses ranging from 106 Mo to
1010 Mo and mass accretion rates ranging from 10-9
Mo/a to 101 Mo/a.
