HST/NICMOS Imaging of the Quintuplet and Arches Clusters

Donald F. Figer1

1 UCLA

ABSTRACT: We discuss HST/NICMOS observations of two extraordinary massive clusters of young stars near the Galactic Center. The observations reveal the presence of a main sequence, in addition to previously identified emission-line stars, i.e., Wolf-Rayet stars. These clusters are the most massive in the Galaxy and can be viewed as the nearest templates for the super-star clusters in other galaxies.
