Microcosm Protozoan Punk from the Pond Scum of Socorro Last update: 12 Mar 2005

Microcosm makes its home in Socorro, New Mexico, about an hour south of Albuquerque on I-25. The band plays its own style of "desert punk" which derives from the ancient traditions of an offshoot of the Anasazi who dwelled in a mobile-home park in the Rio Grande valley.

• Ian "Screamin' Ian" Troy - vocals

  Ian works at keeping his voice in tip-top shape with a 12 carton a day habit. When not taking care of his kid or hacking up phelgm, Ian is just happy not be getting the %$#! kicked out of him in a King of the Cage match.

• Lance "Slave Driver" Johnson - guitar

  Lance plays guitar, jamming good with Steve and Ian, in Socorro's bars. When not rolling the d20's, Lance yells at the other band members to "frickin' keep the beat". He took it all too far, but boy could he play guitar.

• Steve "Rocket Science" Myers - bass

  Steve collects molds, spores, and fungus. When not scanning the sky with a big-ass radio array, he tries to hold down the bottom end for the band.

• Dustin "the Mystery Man" - drums

  Before every gig, the band has to break Dustin out of the Socorro Maximum Security Home for the Insane. In between shock treatments, Dustin is lucid enough to pound the skins and lay down the rhythm.

• DR-202 "Doctor Groove" - mechano drums

  When Dustin is locked in solitary in his straightjacket, the band call up Dr. Groove from his secret lair in a volcano near Socorro. When playing with "The Doctor", the band go by the name Mechanocosm.
