I am a radio astronomer and currently an assistant research scientist
at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory
in Socorro, New Mexico. I was a member of the millimeter
array group at Caltech for the
three years prior to that.
I am currently a member of the Calibration and Imaging Group in the NRAO
ALMA Project.

Interacting galaxies M81, M82, and NGC 3077 (located 10 million light years
away) in optical light (left) and in 21cm HI (center). Optically invisible,
the atomic hydrogen gas threads all three galaxies forming tidal bridges.
The numerical simulation (right) demonstrates that all the HI filaments seen here
are the results of tidal interaction among all three galaxies.

(Left) Prototypical ultraluminous galaxy Arp 220 mapped in 21cm HI emission
at the VLA in contours superposed over a deep R-band CCD image. Two gas
rich disk galaxies have merged, and the HI traces the gaseous outer disk
thrown out in tidal tails. See J.
