componentlist.sample - Function

1.2.1 Sample the flux of the list in a specified direction. (Not implemented yet)


Description

The sample function will returns a vector containing the flux in Janskys/pixel of all the components in the list, in the specified direction, at the specified frequency. The returned vector always contains four elements corresponding to the Stokes parameters I,Q,U,V.

Arguments





Inputs

direction

The direction to sample any valid direction measure. A valid Direction measure or vector of string or string, e.g me.direction(’J2000’,’19h30m00’, ’-20d00m00’) or [’J2000’,’19h30m00’, ’-20d00m00’] or ’J2000 19h30m00 -20d00m00’

Default:

J2000 00h00m00.00 90d00m00.0

pixellatsize

the x-size of the in pixels to use when sampling any quantity that has angular units.

allowed:

any

Default:

0.0deg

pixellongsize

the y-size of the in pixels to use when sampling any quantity that has angular units.

allowed:

any

Default:

0.0deg

frequency

The frequency to sample at Any frequency measure

allowed:

any

Default:

1.4GHz
