CASA Testing log Alpha release. S.T.Myers 25 October 2006 Search through this report for "NOTE" for some encountered problems and comments. running on sandrock: /home/sandrock2/smyers/Testing2/Oct06/20061025 this file: 2006-10-25-myers.txt _______________________________________________________________________________ Fire up casapy: > source /home/casa/casainit.csh /home/sandrock2/smyers/Testing2/Oct06/20061025 CASA Version 2.0 Build 143 > casapy Ooooh. Got the new logger! This time work from AIPS UVFITS file made from SPLAT so that calibration and flagging was applied. > inp 'importuvfits' Hey, we now get short lines of info for each param. Excellent! > fitsfile='AM693_3JUL01.CSPLAT.FITS' > vis='am693_20010701_cband.ms' > importuvfits This seemed to work without the errors seen before. Note because I used SPLAT it doesn't have the offending FG, SN, CL tables. Hey, it looks like Joe put in support for taskname defaults (with the taskname parameter). If you do a > dir you see it on the list. Seems to have defaulted to 'listobs' for some reason, so it wasn't updated by inp or by execution. > taskname='importuvfits' > inp Still listobs. > inp taskname Works. Must be a work in progress by Joe (JOE CONFIRMS THIS, WILL COMPLETE THIS STARTING AFTER NAUG) > inp 'listobs' > listobs Now goes to new logger. Might be nice to have an option to have it go to a text file. There probably is a way in the fancy logger. It does have an 'Export to PDF' option which, strangely enough, prints the logger stuff as a PDF (see the file logger-1.pdf). Hey wait. You can no longer just cut and paste from the new logger (clicking does something strange). You can do so from the actual casapy.log file. Should there be a way to do this from the logger itself? NOTE: An annoying feature of the logger is that it does not auto-scroll to follow new messages. Also, it is difficult to scroll the logger when the log gets large as the arrow up-down buttons move too much on a single click. Need better paging up down and the arrows should move it less.
