From julvesta@cv3.cv.nrao.edu Tue Jul 25 17:51:58 2000 Date: Tue, 25 Jul 2000 16:54:53 -0600 (MDT) From: Jim Ulvestad To: Tim Cornwell , Athol Kemball , George Moellenbrock , Debra Shepherd , Greg Taylor , Steven Myers Cc: Frazer Owen Subject: AIPS++ testers meeting minutes, July 17 (sorry for the delay) AIPS++ Intensive Testing Meeting Minutes, 17 July 2000 (jsu) ------------------------------------------------------------ Attendees: Cornwell, Kemball, Moellenbrock, Shepherd, Ulvestad A meeting was held on 17 July to discuss the progress that has been made so far in intensive AIPS++ testing. With Myers and Taylor out of town, Shepherd was the only tester present. Most of the time was spent going over action items from the previous meeting. Complete compilation and availability of VLA data sets (gbt, dss) ----------------------------------------------------------------- This was done, and a list was handed out by Shepherd. The initial data sets tested will be the VLA monitoring data sets acquired by Myers and Taylor, with 3.6 cm and 6 cm being reduced to start with. Other continuum and spectral line data sets, as well as an OVRO data set, have been assembled. Start reducing at least one VLA data set in AIPS for comparison (dss, gbt) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shepherd has started on one of the VLA monitoring sets. Taylor will start on the other after he gets back from vacation. Read development plan in AIPS++ Note 234 (all testers) ------------------------------------------------------ Shepherd has looked at this; the other testers were not present to confess whether they had read the plan or not. Complete draft of "Getting Results on VLA with AIPS++" (ajk) ------------------------------------------------------------ Kemball has worked on this, and also is in the process of generating other helpful documentation. Included is a preliminary "glossary" of AIPS tasks and the equivalent AIPS++ functions/tools, as appropriate. Develop interaction plan for AIPS++ personnel with testers (ajk, tjc) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Moellenbrock has been designated the main daily contact for immediate problems (although defect reports still need to be sent in electronically for them to make it into the system). Golap and Kemball will be backups as necessary. Defect reports will be fanned out to members of the AIPS++ group as appropriate. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 1, at 10 a.m., in the upper conference room. The primary action item for that meeting is for Shepherd and Taylor to continue testing the simple continuum data sets, and for Moellenbrock et al. to assist as necessary.
