Testing AIPS++ Detailed Log April 17, 2000, session: note: TTT = trouble BBB = bug QQQ = question TTT> After my last testing session ended James Robnett had to fix /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo which had been corrupted somehow. Athol swears that the change he made couldn't have done this. Possibly I did it somehow, maybe when I was activating my internet connection from the control-panel. A mystery. Hopefully it won't happen again. Just in case it does here is what ifcfg-lo is supposed to look like: DEVICE=lo IPADDR=127.0.0.1 NETMASK=255.0.0.0 NETWORK=127.0.0.0 BROADCAST=127.255.255.255 ONBOOT=yes BOOTPROTO=none TTT> But even after my laptop was fully functional, aips++ refused to start up with an error message: couldn't start server misc exiting aips++ immediately I asked Kumar about this and he thought he'd heard of someone else with this affliction. So I blew away aips++ entirely, got the new CD from Tim and have just re-installed it. aips++ version 1.3, build #400 is up and running. So, I'm back to where I started from last week. But things are going more smoothly now. Rapidly caught up to where I was, run setdata, setsolve, solve, and fluxscale with results: Set the flux density scale using reference calibrators | known Flux density for 1337-129 (spw=1) is: 5.490 +/- 0.005 Jy | Flux density for 1337-129 (spw=2) is: 5.598 +/- 0.033 Jy | Flux density for 0713+438 (spw=1) is: 1.536 +/- 0.002 Jy | 1.59 Flux density for 0713+438 (spw=2) is: 1.584 +/- 0.009 Jy | 1.59 Flux density for 0927+390 (spw=1) is: 10.634 +/- 0.010 Jy | Flux density for 0927+390 (spw=2) is: 10.876 +/- 0.065 Jy | Flux density for 0854+201 (spw=1) is: 2.384 +/- 0.002 Jy | Flux density for 0854+201 (spw=2) is: 2.444 +/- 0.015 Jy | Flux density for 1310+323 (spw=1) is: 1.859 +/- 0.002 Jy | 1.88 Flux density for 1310+323 (spw=2) is: 1.913 +/- 0.011 Jy | 1.88 Flux density for 1252-336 (spw=1) is: 0.428 +/- 0.001 Jy | Flux density for 1252-336 (spw=2) is: 0.437 +/- 0.003 Jy | Flux density for 1534-354 (spw=1) is: 0.559 +/- 0.001 Jy | Flux density for 1534-354 (spw=2) is: 0.556 +/- 0.004 Jy | Flux density for 1743-038 (spw=1) is: 4.478 +/- 0.004 Jy | Flux density for 1743-038 (spw=2) is: 4.127 +/- 0.042 Jy | Flux density for 1751+096 (spw=1) is: 2.048 +/- 0.002 Jy | Flux density for 1751+096 (spw=2) is: 1.919 +/- 0.014 Jy | comparison to known values (far right column) looks reasonably good. Also the plotcal results looked generally ok. BBB> Plotting visibilities Visplot autoscaleo to 6176 Jy. Seems a little high for 3C286. Tried to set the scaling manually. This is ignored.
