Testing AIPS++  Detailed Log

TTT> After my last testing session ended James Robnett had to fix
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-lo
which had been corrupted somehow.  Athol swears that the change
he made couldn't have done this.  Possibly I did it somehow, maybe when
I was activating my internet connection from the control-panel.
A mystery.  Hopefully it won't happen again.  Just in case it does
here is what ifcfg-lo is supposed to look like:

TTT> But even after my laptop was fully functional, aips++ refused to 
start up with an error message:  

couldn't start server misc
exiting aips++ immediately

I asked Kumar about this and he thought he'd heard of someone else
with this affliction.  

So I blew away aips++ entirely, got the new CD from Tim and have
just re-installed it.  aips++ version 1.3, build #400 is up and 
running.  So, I'm back to where I started from last week.  

But things are going more smoothly now.  Rapidly caught up to where
I was, run setdata, setsolve, solve, and fluxscale with results:

comparison to known values (far right column) looks reasonably good.

Also the plotcal results looked generally ok.

BBB> Plotting visibilities Visplot autoscaleo to 6176 Jy.  Seems a little
high for 3C286.  Tried to set the scaling manually.  This is
ignored.  Bug.
