NASA requests you to submit proposals for unmanned space missions to the newly discovered Eliot system. Scientific payloads of maximum weight of 100 kg will be delivered to the system using the recently developed Hephaestus nuclear interstellar rocket. The budget limit for the planetary probe package has been reduced to $80 million (US). The proposed mission should target one of the seven known planets, possible satellites of these planets, or asteroids in the Eliot system.
For details of possible instrumentation, costs, and up-to-date information on the Eliot system, see the Eliot Homepage at:
Important: proposals are due November 26 via email. If you get them to me earlier I can return confirmation and mission reviews before November 27. Results from the missions will be delivered to the investigators by email the following week, so that data analysis can be completed. The investigators will be expected to submit mission reports that will be posted in an on-line symposium on the Eliot Homepage.
