m4a support For m4a support, get faad2 source code from
AudioCoding.com.
Get faad2-2.0.tar.gz .
Get id3lib-3.8.3-11.fc4.i386.rpm and id3lib-devel-3.8.3-11.fc4.i386.rpm and install.
Step 1 - build libfaad.
A Makefile syntax error will appear on line 623 - remove/correct the "rpm:" target instructions from faad2/Makefile .
Apply this patch in the faad2/common/mp4v2/ directory. Changes
need to be made to replace "= NULL" to "= 0" in m4aproperty.h and rtphint.h.
Ref : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/history/221322 Follow instructions in faad2/ directory.
Step 2 - build xmms plugin.
cd faad2/plugins/xmms
cp ../../COPYING .
Edit faad2/plugins/xmms/src/Makefile to change ' top_builddir = ../ ' to
top_builddir = ../../../
Follow instructions in faad2/plugins/xmms/ directory.
.m4a music files should now play just fine in xmms.
