These notes assume you have the g++ compilers installed and aips++ setup to use it. I know nothing about this and you should contact (in order) either, Mark Calabretta (mcalabre@atnf.csiro.au) or Brian Glendenning (bglenden@nrao.edu) on how to do this. The g++ compiler is now available at many of the consortium sites, and version 2.7.2 has been extensively used at Socorro. These notes relate to that version.
