A few notes about ALMA developments activities for this month.
- There haven't been many observations in Chile, due to power outages with the
new power system.
- ALMA release 10.2 features was completed last week. Integration testing activities
are starting.
- The "OMC Reloaded" effort, which was a sub-project targetting to improve the user
interfaces for ALMA release 10.2 was completed.
- A problem was detected in the correlator quantization correction algorithm. It doesn't
work very well with low power levels during Tsys calibration. A request to modify the implementation
has been discussed, it was implemented and it's being tested.
- ALMA phasing project activities are going according to the plan. This week we are working
on completing the design of the observing modes. We'll probably be able to begin implementing
some of this changes this week.
- 100% data rates in the correlator is under testing. After this we'll work on removing RTAI
from the nodes machines, and after this we'll begin implementing BL correlator subarrays.
- About hiring, the selection process for 2 open positions has been completed. We have sent
recomendations to hire for Rachel Rosen and Alexis Tejeda. About the other position that we have
open (Control/ObOps Software Engineer II), we have re-advertised in a wider market, as we didn't
get good cadidates advertising only in El Paso, NM.
