NRAO/AOC Auditorium Upgrade
The use of the auditorium should be broken down into levels of
requirements and knowledge. What I mean by this is there are some
people that only need simple teleconferencing and then there are those
that need LAVs, house mics, etc. The first group should be able
to use the auditorium with just polycom equipment (the cameras and
a polycom phone).
Wants
Polycom
- We need a polycom camera unit with a hub so more then one site
can "dial-in" to the auditorium
Microphones
Miscellaneous
Done
Cables
Max length for S-Video is 60 feet. The max length for Coax is 100 feet.
- Y splitter for S-Video (to connect polycom to proj and house right mon)
Apparently this is not recommended with svideo. I tried one and the
video quality was noticeably degraded. So I went with a powered
splitter box like this...
- S-Video Splitter Box $160.00
Video Switchers
VHS/DVD
- Sony SLV-D100 $249.99
- 2 Qty. 6 foot Stereo RCA audio cables $20.00
- 2 Qty. 6 foot Composite video cables $20.00

Max length for S-Video is 60 feet. The max length for Coax is 100 feet.
The polycoms have an aux input for things like a VCR. Could we use
this to pipe the computer monitor directly to the polycom?
