Me at Arapahoe Basin.

My research is in the design and construction of millimeter-wave instrumentation and data analysis for that instrumentation, with a focus on addressing problems in galactic evolution, cosmology, and the large scale structure of the universe.

My thesis work was on TopHat, a balloon-borne telescope designed to measure anistropy in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation.  Since 2003, I've been working on searches for distant, dust-enshrouded star forming galaxies using Bolocam and building a new instrument, Z-Spec, to find the redshifts of these galaxies using the rotational emission lines of carbon monoxide (CO).  Working on these projects, I spend a lot of time at the summit of Mauna Kea.
