International Workshop on the Galactic Center

We have finalized the proceedings and submitted them to the publisher. The reference is "The Central Parsecs of the Galaxy", eds. H. Falcke, A. Cotera, W. Duschl, F. Melia, M. Rieke, ASP Conf. Series, Vol. 186. A table of contents is available here (PS).

The conference was jointly organized by the Galactic Center Newsletter, the Sonderforschungsbereich 328 (Heidelberg), the Physics Department and the Steward Observatory of the University of Arizona, and the Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie (Bonn).

The workshop was dedicated to review and to discuss recent results in Galactic Center research. A more extensive motivation of the conference, the final version of the program, and a list of participants can be found on our web site. Attendance was strictly limited to 60 participants to allow for intensive discussions for which ample time will be allocated. The proceedings will be published in the ASP Conference Series and the abstracts are published in a special issue of GCNEWS. They are also indexed by ADS. A formal call for papers was issued on June 3, 1998 and the conference poster can be found here.
