ABSTRACT: After a brief overview of the physical characteristics of Sgr A West, Sgr A East and their respective associated molecular clouds the CND and the 50 km/s clouds, we present a number of new observations based on the VLA, HST and AAT. Preliminary results based on the synthesis of molecular hydrogen, OH (1720 MHz), thermal and nonthermal radio continuum data as well as proper motion of ionized gas in Sgr A West , suggest a strong evidence of shocks in these clouds and a picture which is consistent with the the 50 km/s cloud /Sgr A East interacting with the CND /Sgr A West and that a cloud of atomic gas is falling in toward the Galactic center.
