Trinidad and Tobago: Asa Wright Nature Centre

Click on the small picture to see a larger, more detailed version. I toured Trinidad, staying at the Asa Wright Nature Centre, and Tobago, staying at the Blue Waters Inn. The trip was led by Jan Hansen (dba Otus Asio Tours otusasiotours@bellsouth.net). He leads a variety of trips, all of which I would recommend.

Pictures taken November 9 - 14, 2001 from the veranda of the Asa Wright Nature Centre. It really is as wonderful as advertised.

Bananaquit --- up to no good.

White-chested Emerald.

Yellow Oriole and Great Kiskadee.

Purple Honeycreeper (green striped ones are females).

Grayish Saltater, Streaked Flycatcher, and Cocoa Thrush.

Blue-grey, Silver-beaked, and Palm Tanagers.

White-lined Tanager (female, male) and Green Honeycreeper.

Great Antshrike (female and male).

Crested Oropendola, Orange-winged Parrot, and Blue-crowned Motmot.

Lizard.
