These are not really user tests as Telescope Calibration is not a user-oriented package, but rather aimed for automatic data reduction. The main difficulty will be to get relevant test data. We can foresee the use of three kinds of test data: 1. Actual test data from real interferometers (ALMATI-FITS) This enables testing the engines, the creation of results and their archiving. The input mechanism is very partially tested and limited to specific cases. We do not test either the on-line or off-line versions in their final forms. 1. ALMATI-FITS data from Plateau de Bure some data available, needs simulation for beam switching, easier for interferometry (but limited number of antennas: 6) 2. ALMATI-FITS data from the ATF prototypes Very preliminary data available this fall (single dish total power only, but with beam switching) Interferometry data possibly available end of 2004, with two antennas 2. Simulated test data (prototype simulator written by F.Viallefond in Off-Line subsystem) Advantage: More freedom to generate ALMA-meaningful data (e.g. many antennas). When is this available? Guess 2004-01-01 3. Actual metadata and data provided by the Control and Correlator Subsystems 1. At the ATF Will this be available and when? 2. On Chajnantor When is this available? 4. Actual metadata and data from the Archive This is the off-line mode. When is archive data available (export data format) _________________________________________________________________________ Due Date Name What ---------- -------- ---------------------------------- 2003-10-01 R1 Release 1 Test on simulated data: atm. modeling and calibration, s.d. pointing and focus STATUS 10nov03: Test requires ATF data and possibly simulated data from Francois, neither are available.
