A small note on the "gaps" in my resume:

I am single and have simple tastes.  Although I like money as well as the next fellow, it has never been a high priority with me.  At times, I have simply chosen to do other things with my life than work on computers, such as teaching, school, travel, and volunteer work.  In the last few years I have been helping family members over several bumps, while educating myself independently on some modern internet/PC technologies (html, internet programming, java, Tcl, Visual Basic, Delphi, SQL, C++, and Linux, among others).

I resolved some time ago that I would not make my life's decisions based solely on what will look good on a resume.  Nevertheless, I believe the resume adequately shows that I am an intelligent, skilled and fully qualified professional, willing and able to do good work.  Some of my work commitments have lasted many years, and I can easily envision even longer work relationships.  And I do not leave work unfinished for others to clean up.

Thanks in advance for taking a look at what I might have to offer.
