Biotic Units--Amistad Region
Biotic Units are an extension by Luis Diego Gomez of the widely-used
Holdridge Lifezone classification. It uses latitude as well as altitude
in the temperature portion of the classification, and was also used in
GRUAS. The color scheme is darker for wetter areas, red or yellow
in hotter areas. The white region is a tropical alpine zone--Mt.
Chirripo, approx. 4000m.
