NRAO/Max-Planck Research Fellow National Radio Astronomy Observatory PO Box O Socorro NM USA 87801 Attn: Chris Carilli, NRAO, ccarilli@nrao.edu We invite applications for an NRAO/Max-Planck postdoctoral research fellowship in observational cosmology and basic physics, to work with Chris Carilli at the Array Operations Center, NRAO, in Socorro, NM. This position is funded under the auspices of the Max-Planck Forschungspreis 2005, which supports a broad research program on high redshift galaxies and cosmology, including millimeter and centimeter studies of the molecular gas, dust, and star formation properties of the most distant galaxies, low frequency studies of the redshifted HI 21cm signals from cosmic reionization, and radio observations of QSO absorption lines to study the variation of the fundamental constants. The applicant is expected to participate in one, or more, of these areas, as well as to pursue their personal research. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues in Bonn and Heidelberg, Germany. The position will be located in Socorro, NM. The salary and benefits are commensurate with the NRAO postdoctoral program. The appointment duration is three years. Support is provided for professional travel, computing, page charges, vacation accrual, health insurance, and a moving allowance.
