Comment:

The dependence of the sideband gain ratio on a frequency scale 
corresponding to these atmospheric line widths is also important. 

Sideband gain ratio is unimportant only if nothing depends on the 
frequency (receiver temperature, atmospheric opacity, antenna losses, 
etc...) which is unfortunately not the case at mm/submm wavelengths.
