	Subj:	Included Materials on the VLA Expansion Project

	Included in this package are some supporting material on
the VLA Expansion Project.  You should find a copy of:

	1) The 'VLA Development Plan', 
	2) The 'VLA Expansion Design Document' (without 
		a title page)
	3) The 'VLA Expansion Project Technical Goals', and
	4) A figure showing the coverage of the resolution-frequency
plane by NRAO's current and planned instruments.  

	Please note the following:

	The 'VLA Development Plan' contains an excellent summary of
the breadth of new science which the Expanded VLA will access.
However, the technical portions of this document (Chapters 1 and 5)
are out of date.  

	The 'VLA Expansion Design Document' is both an evolving
document, and unfinished.  In particular, there is no information on
the budget or timescale.  However, it contains useful tables, figures, 
and explanations which should help your understanding of the project.

	The 'VLA Expansion Project Technical Goals' is our most
up-to-date description of the project.  It contains our best current
estimtes of the technical capabilities of the expanded array, as well
as current budget estimates.
