Minutes from SSS Mtg 2008-Jul-29
There was no meeting today, but the programming staff did update the webtest
machine with the latest software.
Summary of Updates
- Instrument Configuration: Doppler Tracking for VLA Correlator
-
The user interface now presents a yes/no choice for Doppler tracking
for each IF pair. When Doppler tracking is on for an IF pair, the
central frequency of that pair is not validated against the receiver's range.
(A future update will perform this check when validating scans. It is at the
time a scan is specified that we can turn a rest frequency into a radio
frequency.) When Doppler tracking is on for one IF pair but not for the other,
the validation that is performed to ensure that the central frequencies are within
12GHz of each other is bypassed. This check, too, will be done at the scan
level in a future update.
Refer to JIRA issue EVL-675.
- Source Catalog: Special RA & Dec Groups
-
In order to cut down on clutter when a catalog is opened in the tree view,
the RA and Dec Groups have been placed inside special groups:
- Source Catalog: New Interface for Searches
-
Both simple name searches and advanced source searches have been moved to the
upper left of the catalog tool. Advanced searches are triggered by clicking
on the entry at the top of the tree (labeled "Advanced Search"). When
triggered, a form appears on the right side of the application with search
parameters. Search results are remembered and placed in the tree
(entries "Search Results 1" and "Search Results 2" in the image to the right.)
Work on advanced searching is ongoing.
Refer to JIRA issue EVL-300.
- Obs Prep: More Validation
-
More cross-field checking is being performed on scheduling blocks
and scan loops.
- Obs Prep: Scheduling Constraints
-
Users may now enter API and wind velocity limits for their scheduling blocks.
