Quasars with inferred black-hole masses of 1e9 Msun are observed to be in place by redshift 6. Simulations suggest that these quasars are grown from seed black holes with masses of 1e5 Msun present by redshift 10. One growth mode for such low-mass black holes is Eddington-limited accretion, making this a signature of the first active galactic nuclei (AGNs). Low-mass AGNs at redshift 10 are not observationally accessible. But their local analogs are, providing checks on the simulations at these high redshifts. We summarize the checks available from GH 10, a low-mass AGN experiencing Eddington-limited accretion at redshift 0.08.
