X-Band Phase Shifter Production Process and Evaluation

The X-Band Phase Shifter is the largest phase shifter the NRAO has attempted to build. New processes were developed to economically construct the product in an efficient and timely manner. Although the evaluation of the prototypes has shown a 100% yield with respect to the phase shift, the production units only exhibited a 50% yield. The use of statistical tools was employed to help determine the cause of the low yield and improve the process for higher yield.
