Star Formation: From Low-mass Stars to High-z Galaxies

I will review results from Spitzer studies of nearby, low-mass star forming regions. Then I will use these, along with studies of selected regions of massive star formation, to examine the relation between cloud properties and star formation. The implications for extragalactic star formation relations (e.g., Schmidt-Kennicutt relations) will be explored. Finally, the role of new surveys of the Milky Way in testing these relations will be described.
