Wide-Field Radio Transient Surveys

Radio transient parameter space is only sparsely explored. Recent discoveries indicate that there is much to be found from RRATs to burpers. I will describe the results of an archival VLA search that has uncovered a set of radio transients which have no optical or radio hosts. This archival survey permits us to determine the radio transient rate ate centimeter wavelengths on time scales of days. I will also discuss the Allen Telescope Array. The wide field of view of the ATA make it a powerful survey instrument suitable for opening radio transient discovery space.
