What Strong Lensing Teaches Us About Elliptical Galaxies

Gravitational lensing probes mass directly. As such, multiple-image lens systems are powerful tools for investigating the structure and evolution of the early-type galaxy population which preferentially participates in lensing. I will review recent progress in using statistical lens ensembles, stellar dynamics, and direct modeling to trace the mass profiles of elliptical lens galaxies from the scale of several effective radii down to the inner few parsecs of the core.
