The radio source Sgr A* is likely a gravitationally confined, hot, magnetized plasma surrounding a black hole at the galactic center. I will describe an effort to model the spectrum of Sgr A* from first principles, using state of the art MHD simulations of the radiating plasma combined with relativistic radiative transfer. The model matches the data with only a few parameters. Submillimeter imaging, variability studies, and polarization data will ultimately falsify the model or constrain the spin and inclination of the black hole.
