Bulk Comptonization of the Cosmic Microwave Background by Extragalactic Jets as a Probe of Their Matter Content.

I will discuss recent work on a method for constraining the matter content of Quasar jets. The method relies on measuring, or setting upper limits on, the component of the cosmic microwave background radiation that is bulk Comptonized by cold electrons in the relativistically flowing jet. I will also discuss our planned HST observations of the Chandra - detected jet PKS 0637-752 and how these will be used to probe the jet matter content.
