Galaxies, Star Formation, and the IGM at z~2

The universe at z~2 was in the midst of a broad peak in activity powered by both star formation and accretion onto black holes. This activity profoundly shaped the future of the galaxy formation process, leaving a puzzling fossil record today. I'll discuss recent observations that provide direct in situ information on the influence of supernova and AGN feedback on both the galaxies themselves and their large-scale environment.
