Gas and Stars within 1 pc of Sgr A*

New high resolution imaging of the ionized and molecular gas in the inner parsec will be presented. The 1.87 micron Paschen Alpha line was imaged with the NICMOS camera on HST and the 3 mm HCN line was mapped at 3-arcsec resolution with the OVRO array. The molecular gas clouds are now resolved and the neutral gas densities are much higher than previously derived, implying that most of the clouds are tidally stable. I will also describe the new HST Treasury project COSMOS which is scheduled to image two square degrees to study the evolution of galaxies, dark matter and large scale structure at z = 0.8 to 3.
