Towards a redshift distribution of SCUBA sources through spectroscopy, and modeling of the population

The radio identification of submillimeter galaxies is revolutionizing our understanding of this enigmatic population. The combination of radio/submm photometric redshifts, spectroscopy of the optically brighter sources, and modeling of the population are leading us slowly towards the goal of a redshift distribution for SCUBA galaxies.
