Dusty Disks around Young Stars

A large fraction of young stars exhibit emission from small particles distributed in disks with properties similar to the early Solar System. A lot of activity is now devoted to characterizing the properties of these disks to understand the underlying physics of mass accretion and planet formation. I will discuss the role of millimeter interferometry in this endeavor, including recent relevant observations obtained with the Very Large Array.
