Type Ia Supernovae and Cosmology

Models for Type Ia Supernovae (SNe Ia) will be reviewed, as well as different progenitor scenarios. The relation of the different models to the use of SNe Ia for the determination of cosmological parameters will be discussed. In particular, the question of: can we be fooled by SNe Ia into believing in an accelerating universe, will be examined critically.
