An Underdog Model for Gamma-ray Bursts:
Galactic Halo Models Based on High Velocity Neutron Stars
In this talk I will first give a brief summary of
the observations of Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs), especially the highlights
from the recent Huntsville GRB workshop. Then I will present
several galactic halo models based on the high velocity neutron stars,
and explicitly explain the assumptions in order to make the models
viable. Several predictions are outlined, with the emphasis on
observing M31. In the end, I will discuss some new results regarding
the GRB time-histories and their implications for the emission
processes in GRBs.
