Functional Responsibilities
|
|
- Heading the User Support Group for the VLA and VLBA. Our job is
to help optimizing the science enabled by these instruments by
- providing our observers with up-to-date information
- scrutinize submitted observing scripts, and if needed, suggest improvements
- running the NRAO helpdesk
- providing assistance to visiting observers
- organizing workshops and community days, both here in Socorro and
around the country
- Help commissioning the ever increasing capabilities of the VLA
before we make them available to the general user community
- Testing the various online tools we provide to help users propose
for time, prepare their observing script, and retrieve and analyze
their data.
Though the transition to the EVLA leaves me with a limited amount of
research time, I have been able to average a couple of papers per
